Long cherished dream of Kerala Physios, an association of our own, Kerala Association for Physiotherapists Co-ordination (KAPC) took birth and working among us for last four years. Within this short duration our association has made many great achievements which were beyond our expectations. Submitting memorandums to Government, legal case in Honorable High Court, DME hearing followed by health secretary’s supporting report, quality syllabus and board of studies at Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHAS) Physiotherapy Council formation bill at Kerala assembly are some of them. It is only because of sincere effort of our leaders. During this period association protected our profession and Physios from various attacks like different cases and government orders against us, defaming activities through media etc. like an ozone umbrella.
Present committee took charge from 27th Se ptember 2013 onwards and is in ongoing effort to add more achievement to the above list. Submission of Vision 2030 draft to Chief Minister, District committee visit by state leaders, and formation of PSC rank holders association, defending new cases and government orders, physiotherapy camps and awareness programmes etc. are some of the targets we achieved in this time.
KAPC membership certificate is valid document for going abroad. Nowadays it is coming with printed name, photo and hologram. Physiotherapy is one of the safest and effective methods of treatment accepted worldwide. Many patients are coming back to life with the help of physiotherapy and other medical branches are getting advantage of it. Still there is lot of misunderstandings and lack of awareness regarding this noble profession. Along with this many false stories are spreaded about our profession in this society we have to remove this darkness. It is better to light a lamp than blame the darkness. Strengthening Association is a must for our survival. Let’s join our hands together for a better tomorrow. Be unite and be powerful.
Wishing you all success,
KAPC was formed when we all realized the urgent need to get organized, protect our rights and save our profession from humiliation and degradation. As you know, there are a lot of internal and external factors which stunt the growth of our profession in the right way. We should overcome all these problems if the Physiotherapist has get respect from the society and to create more awareness among them to gain the real recognition. We should be very much vigilant enough to identify and rectify the misconcepts that prevails, which hinds the growth of Physiotherapy as an independent profession. I can confidentially say that the activities of KAPC have given the Physiotherapy & Physiotherapists in Kerala a new hope, new respect in the health care system than any other Physiotherapy association could. I request to each and every Physiotherapists of Kerala to uphold the dignity and honor of our noble profession and to contribute your maximum for the uplifment of our field.
